BABY SHOWER The Baby Shower also referred to as seemantham in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana is the initial celebration conducted in honor of the expectant mother and the unborn baby. Traditionally, this auspicious event takes place in the fifth, seventh, or ninth month of pregnancy. In the past, seemantham was observed twice - once by the expectant mother's in-laws and once by her parents. However, nowadays, it is a combined and elaborate affair organized by the parents, with gifts being presented by the in-laws during the first pregnancy only.
